About Jodie

My story

I know the effect skin can have on confidence. In my late teens to mid-twenties I suffered from acne, and tried everything from the contraceptive pill to topical and oral antibiotics, and finally roaccutane. I did all of this, without considering the effect of my diet and lifestyle on my nervous system, immunity and hormonal health - and the impact of each on my skin.

With the benefit of hindsight (and a decade of clinical experience as a Registered Nutritional Therapist), the factors that were driving and exacerbating my symptoms make a lot more sense.

Now, in my 40s, my skin is going through new changes. I have found that building my skin’s resilience to biological shifts, environmental factors and changing nutritional needs, is creating skin that I feel confident in.

My perspective

My own experience of skin transformation, my training and my work with hundreds of clients has given me my perspective on skin health: it can’t be separated from what lies beneath.

Working on the underlying terrain of the gut, immune system, nervous system and hormonal picture underpins the health of the skin - its texture, integrity and ability to regenerate and repair.

My ethos

Skin is a fluid, permeable and dynamic organ. Supporting healthy skin is about responding to its needs as they change during periods of flux in our lives. By understanding the mechanisms and processes in the body that affect our skin, we can support its health and its outside appearance, while feeling more balanced, calm and nourished beneath the surface.

In practice

Over the course of my decade in practice, I have supported clients with acne, psoriasis, rosacea and eczema. I have also developed an interest in supporting the healthy ageing of skin during perimenopause - addressing structure, hydration, skin barrier integrity and pigmentation.

As well as offering tailored nutrition advice, facial treatments and guidance on daily rituals to support the skin, I also provide recommendations on supplements and skincare.
